The Party That I Threw Last Year... :D

Last year I threw my parents a party for their 20th anniversary and hired performers from JugglingInferno.com to put on some fire shows and provide entertainment for a few hours. It was so awesome and they always talk about it with excitement.

It's nice to hear how much they enjoyed it and how they hope they can see them again. They don't know it yet, but I plan on hiring them again for my neighborhood's block party for a Fourth of July celebration. I love block parties. The more people I get to meet and talk to, the better. Also, the food at these parties is delicious!

It's not just regular food, but some ethnic dishes as well that exposes people to different tastes. Everyone makes something and we all just line up like a buffet, and there's even a contest on the best tasting dish. We all pitch in and the winner gets $500! For the last two years, the same person won. I need to come up with something that can win this time! Other than the food and talking to good people, there is so much great music and fun dancing. I've never experienced a block party until I moved here a few years ago. As for my major duty, I'm going to book the performers now though, so I can get them and plan everything else out too.

I'm going all out with this and will have all the performers there. It's going to be like a small circus, with fire dancers, stilt-walkers, hula hoopers, jugglers, and performers putting on glow shows. At the end, there will be a pyrotechnic finale, which should be a fantastic ending! I can't wait to see them again, and see all of my friend's and neighbor's reactions. We're going to have the best party ever!

Best One Yet...

Oh, That Road Trip!

It's really cool to be back on here.  Sometimes social media feels overwhelming (God, I sound old!) but I was missing expressing myself, so here we go.

Last month, we went on a road trip.  I generally don't care for road trips but we went across the country from FL to DE to across the country to CA.  Super neat.  It was two weeks long but being packed in a car can be so freakin' overwhelming at times!  Thank God my sister was there along with two of my best friends so even when we got into this one particular shady situation, I knew we all had each other's backs.

While I was on the road, I busted my one and only one so I had to look up iPhone chargers and had the delivered all the way, 1000 miles away from my home, to a friend's house, where we stopped for one night.

Thank God for understanding friends!  We were all able to eat a nice, home cooked, nutritious meal (junk food gets old FAST!), play with his cats, fill up on groceries, take hot showers, and yes, sleep on a couch... even that's a blessing!

I also have allergies which sucks.  Thanks to my car iPhone charger, I was able to watch Netflix to kill the boredom once in a while.  Love that service, btw, and for so cheap too!  I got caught up on House of Cards, what an awesome show.  Frank's character, hands down, is one of the best that has been fleshed out.

There are only a handful of online sites I shop from for a few reasons: I have no faith in the integrity of credit card transactions that take place on these sites.  Second, some of my online shopping experiences have left a very bad taste in my mouth... some stores never honouring an exchange or  a refund, which is stupid because otherwise, I loved their merch... and could have been a life long shopper.

Happy with how quickly I received the charger and in tip top condition :)  I will probably order a couple more accessories and buy a regular charger and earbuds for my sister as a little thank you.

Finally! Getting What I Need To Make Some Things Easier :)

I attend college all week in a wheelchair and carrying a back pack around, along with having to run errands, can be a bit too much to handle all at once. My parents put some money in my account to buy a brand new scooter, which I was very thankful for, since I have a very busy schedule and this will be much easier to use. I have a lot of books, so not everything fits in my back pack. I found this mobility scooters website that has some nice accessories to order to go on my new scooter.

I ordered a front and back basket to carry some groceries in on my way home, and to hold some notebooks so my back pack is not so heavy. I can also put my coat in one of them, so I don't have to keep it on my lap or put it on another desk, fearing that I might leave it behind. Sometimes I am able to use crutches to get around in tight spaces, and they have a holder I can have installed on the scooter so I can take them with me. That is so awesome! I'm also going to get a cup holder to take some coffee and a cell phone holder so I don't lose my phone.

Sometimes, I can't see bikes coming up from behind me, so having a rear view mirror will be great so I can try to let them go by instead of blocking the sidewalk. It also comes with a safety flag so people can see me in their cars, just to be safe. And I got a battery charger to charge my scooter before I head out in the morning. I'm sure I will find more accessories as I go and I will be set! I'm excited to get this easier mode of transportation.

Can't wait to hit up the ocean though... even if it's hard for me, I love it!  Plus, Lil Man loves the water and other dogs ;)

So Sick Of This Guy!
